HDGC...Now What?

Be sure to visit HDGC…Now What?

You, or someone close to you has been diagnosed with HDGC.  Now what?  The search is on, for information, for support, for encouragement.

We are committed to developing this network, a valuable source of credible and useful information.  Join our community of support for all of those touched by HDGC or other types of stomach cancer.  Your participation can be as little or as much as you desire.  You decide.

Please take a moment to read this brief introduction to the site, so that you may take full advantage of all that we have to offer.

At a minimum, as a registered member of the network, you will receive occasional messages that we feel may be of interest to you.

Beyond that, we encourage you to explore the site, join discussion groups, and connect with others.  You may choose to create a journal (blog) to record your personal journey that can be shared with both members and non-members.  We have learned that tremendous strength can be found in sharing.

The Be Strong Hearted® network is multi-faceted..  Think of  Be Strong Hearted®  (www.BeStrongHearted.org)  as the formal face.  It is focused toward both the general public as well as the member community.  You’ll find basic information about us, educational info about HDGC, genetic discrimination issues and the like.  The Personal Stories of others touched by HDGC are shared here also.  View up-to-date information about key HDGC researchers and their projects and progress.

There are many ways to navigate around the site.
Near the top of the front page click the Left < or Right > arrow to view articles about HDGC families.
View recent posts by scrolling down the front page.
Search for keywords using the “Search” box in the upper right corner of the front page.
In the Sidebar, use the Tag Cloud to find articles by topic, or browse through the Archives.

The Sidebar also includes a wealth of information.  The Welcome tab (where you login) has links to useful resources as well as our Member Blogs.  Explore the Members, Groups and Activity tabs. Click around to learn about the members and the groups.  Subscribe to the RSS Feed to keep up with what is happening on the site.

Be sure to visit HDGC…Now What?  (http://hdgc.bestronghearted.org/), which is another facet of the network.  It’s a relaxed and informal place to find information directly related to those affected by HDGC, sort of “the guts” of all that we face.  Explore, click around, leave Comments, become a Contributor!

Please, DO make suggestions for content or links that you would find useful and/or interesting for both yourself and others.  Invite those who might benefit from the network to join too.  Contact us if you would like to contribute a post on a particular topic of knowledge or personal experience of your own.

Let us know if you have questions, experience technical difficulties while using the site, or if we can be of help in some other way.

Above all else, Kia Kaha, Be Strong Hearted!

Lorraine and Cathy, you’re stories are inspiring. I wish you both the best of luck with your surgeries and recovery. Right now, it’s hard for me to imagine being in your shoes, but I will most likely be there at some point. Thanks for sharing.
